The enforced exclusion of homosexuals by society attempts to prevent the power of community. How can resistance and community emerge against systematic oppression? My work deals with the Glory Hole as a subversive symbol of resistance and it’s community-building properties through anonymous sexual interactions. I combine the materiality of the GloryHole’s classic surfaces with the Colors and textiles of historical queer symbols of identification to highlight the relevance of queer resistance.
